Camping de La Ferme des 4 Chenes is located in the heart of a region full of various activities. The Basque Country is full of activites and experiences to be shared between friends and family.
Hiking
You can walk from the campsite, along the Adour River. Circuits are identified in the locality and in the neighbouring villages (educational route from L’Ardanavy River to Urcuit)
The GR8: On its way to the Atlantic coast the GR8 passes through the village of URT. This trail goes from the Lac d’Hourtin to the Sare caves, where it can reach the GR10 ( joins the Atlantic to the Mediterranean) or the Camino de Norte towards Saint-Jacques de Compostelle.
The GR8 is part of the European Coastal Path E9, which connects Estonia to Portugal. Following the coast of the North Sea, the English Channel and the Atlantic, to the south of Portugal, it covers a distance of 5.000 kms.
But if you have less time to spend on hiking, you can also discover shorter walks closer to the campsite. The campsite manager, passionate about hiking and mountains, will be happy to advise you on suitable routes.
Aquatic and Nautical Activities
The Base de Pop
In the neighboring village of Guiche is a lake where you can try out the joy of water sports in a very well equipped water centre.
The Base du lac de Sames is also very well equipped, you will be able to try out the sports activities and ride the Télèski.
Rafting
There is a possibility to rent canoes in Labastide Clairence (one of the most beautiful French villages) and explore the river in tranquility.
If you are more sporty you can try rafting on the Nive River, from numerous bases between Itxassou and Bidarray.
Cycling
URT is very well placed for cycling or mountain bike rides.
A bicycle path on the right bank of the Adour leads to Bayonne, Anglet and Biarritz, or you can reach the velodyssey route, the Atlantique Cycling Route.

In 2018, a stage of the Tour de France started from Saint-Pe sur Nivelle in the direction of Espelette (the chilli capital)
